American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an inpatient rehab unit night shift, requiring a WV or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a 24-bed acute inpatient rehab unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes individuals with SCI, TBI, stroke, amputation, neuromuscular disorders, severe deconditioning, and neurological diseases
- Night shift position (3x12 hours, 7p-7a), including every other weekend
- Patient ratios: Nights 1:5/6; Days 1:4/5
- Floating may be required within RN scope
- Care teams include a physiatrist, NP, nurses, therapists, and social workers, collaborating on individualized plans
- Uses Cerner for electronic charting
- Block scheduling may be accommodated upon discussion in the interview
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient-specific rehab plans
- Therapy is provided to patients for 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday
- Typical length of stay is approximately 2 weeks
- No call responsibilities are required
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Free parking is available in the parking garage for travelers
- Royal blue and/or white scrubs are required
- Orientation is offered every other week on Thursday
- Block schedule requests and RTO are considered if discussed during the interview
- Applicants must live at least 100 miles from the facility (75–99 miles may be considered for approval)
- Former permanent employees must wait 2 years after their last day of work before returning as a traveler
- Active WV or compact RN license is required at start; candidates may be submitted with pending license
- Current AHA BLS certification is required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience and at least 1 year of in-specialty experience are required
- Acute care rehab experience preferred
- Charge experience preferred
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Two recent manager or charge references within the past 2 years required
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31), unless medically exempt
