Opportunity:
RN - Acute Med Surg Acute Care
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with start times between 6:45-7:15 AM or PM
• Every other weekend rotation with permanent staff
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• 2 years of experience required in specialty
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• ACLS preferred
• Must reside within 75-mile radius of facility
• Care for patients with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleeds, renal failure, dialysis patients, post-surgical overflow, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psychiatric patients
• Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• Work with CPAP equipment and BiPAP (nights only)
• Utilize MEDITECH 6.1 charting system
• Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs (top and bottom), white top with caribbean blue bottom, or all white
• Strict attendance policy enforced
• Primary care nursing model
• Experience required at larger organizations with high acuity, high turnover, and fast pace
• Must prioritize patient satisfaction, quality of care, and patient safety
• Polished nails only permitted (no artificial or shellac nails)
• Cancellation policy allows 12 hours every 2 weeks

This major medical center is a 483-bed main campus facility serving as a regional healthcare hub. The acute medical surgical unit features 14 beds and maintains high standards for patient care and safety. The facility emphasizes primary care nursing and operates with a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The organization maintains strict policies regarding infection control and patient safety protocols, including specialized measures to reduce CLABSI rates.
