Sous Chef Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years as a Sous Chef in upscale, high-volume restaurants
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- High energy, initiative, and a strong sense of urgency
- Experience in upscale or fine dining scratch kitchens
- Passionate about food and maintaining consistency at high volumes
- Commitment to cleanliness and food safety
- Open to working days, nights, and weekends
- Culinary degree preferred
Sous Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Ensure all operations of the kitchen are optimal and orders executed to plan
- Maintain high levels of food quality, hygiene, and consistency
- Support the team to execute tasks on time with enthusiasm
- Manage with integrity, honesty, and knowledge while promoting culture and values
- Coordinate and collaborate with other departments in the hotel as needed
- Comply with all county and state laws governing food service operations
