This locum tenens Emergency Medicine Physician position in Minnesota involves coverage across days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays with flexible shift patterns. The role requires board certification in Emergency Medicine and current BLS and ACLS certifications. The physician will provide care in a high-volume emergency department with approximately 26,500 patients annually.
Work Schedule:Days/Evenings: 6 to 8 weeks. During weekday/evening shifts, 1.0 FTEE emergency physician will cover 40 hours, typically 4 x 10 hours shifts but may include some combination of clinical/administrative period per week, 6-hour evening swing shift, or 10-hour Fast Track shift. Nights: 2 weeks of nights. When on overnights, 1.0 FTEE emergency physician typically 3 x 12 hours shifts with 1 x 4-hour administrative period per week.Weekends: 2 weekends (1 scheduled weekend for every 4th weekend) Weekend is defined as Saturday through Monday morning.Holiday coverage is tracked and rotated among all ED staff including contractors.Requirements:Board Certified in Emergency MedicineBasic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times. 26,500 patients per year.
