The Assembly Line Lead is responsible for overseeing a fast-paced packaging line, ensuring production goals are met with accuracy and efficiency. This role involves operating machinery, coordinating team workflow, maintaining safety and quality standards, and addressing real-time production issues. The position requires communication skills, adherence to cGMP and GCP policies, and the ability to lead, assign tasks, and maintain detailed production records.
Position Title: Machine Operator - Line Lead
Wage: $18.00 - $22.32 per hour
Shift: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 12 Hour Days or Nights
Hours: 6:45am - 3:00pm (Monday - Friday) or 2:45pm - 11:00pm (Monday - Friday), 8:45pm - 7:00am (Monday - Thursday), 6:45am - 7:00pm (Friday - Sunday) or 6:45pm - 7:00am (Friday - Sunday)
Take charge of a fast-paced packaging line, guiding your team to meet production goals with accuracy and efficiency. As the go-to person on the line, you’ll coordinate workflow, solve problems in real time, and play a key role in delivering high-quality products on time, every time.
Machine Operator - Line Lead Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain machine accordance with batch record, safety and quality standards
- Ensure process optimization through routine mechanical adjustments
- Conduct daily line huddle communication meeting, requiring review of all shift to shift communication, information acquired during the Shift meeting and VCB (Visual Control Board) results
- Provide directions to other line members by ensuring the crew has signed the roster, assigning crew members to the appropriate positions
- Review jackets and ensure proper components and resources are at the line
- Escalate quality, service and equipment performance issues to supervision
- Communicate production needs to the necessary support departments to include but not limited to warehouse, quality, maintenance, and business unit
- Update all line required information including hourly run charts and all areas of the VCBs
- Interact with team to ensure machine performs optimally
- Order components when necessary
- Answer questions and resolve issues for associates on the line
- Complete paperwork to include scrap calculations, recovery and production rates, batch record entries
- Lead and perform lot in and lot out, line clearance, and deep clean functions (Safeguards in place)
- Actively participates in Gemba and/or Safety Gemba as applicable on their line
Machine Operator - Line Lead Requirements:
- Good communication skills
- Able to move and/or transport up to 50 pounds
- Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR)
- Able to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Knowledge of and adherence to company, cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and GCP (Good Clinical Practices) policies, procedures and rules
- Excellent attendance
