Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Float Pool night position requiring Epic experience and the ability to float to multiple units.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital setting on Medical Surgical and Med/Surg Tele units
- Float required to all Med/Surg and Med/Surg Tele units within the hospital, with possible floating to a nearby sister campus
- Patient population is adults to geriatrics with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:00, with every other weekend required
- Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
- No on-call requirements
- Expected to float between units and to the nearby campus as needed
- Must wear navy blue scrubs
- Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed, with no RTO during the first week or during Spring Break (April 6-12)
- Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit
- No blocked scheduling allowed
- Major holiday coverage required depending on contract dates: if one, must work one; if two, must work both; if three, must work two
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year if previously employed as perm or PRN
- Two supervisory (manager or above) references required for consideration
