Our client, a leading healthcare provider specializing in pediatric care, is seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Technician to join their team. As an Orthopedic Technician, you will be an essential part of the Orthopedic Department supporting patient care and treatment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion, attention to detail, and strong communication skills, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Orthopedic Technician
Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Pay Range: $25-35/hour
Shift: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break from 12 pm to 1 pm
What's the Job?
- Apply casts of various materials and assist physicians in the application of complex casts
- Prepare patients for and assist in the reduction of fractures using appropriate equipment
- Assist in the treatment of sterile and infected wounds, including cleansing and dressing wounds
- Remove casts, inspect, assess, and cleanse skin for recastings
- Instruct and advise patients on cast care, crutch walking, and activity management
What's Needed?
- Current, up-to-date resume
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant education and experience preferred
- Experience in cast application and wound treatment
- Knowledge of casting materials and techniques
- Ability to assess patient progress and ensure comfort and circulation
- Strong organizational skills to supervise cast room operations and maintain supplies
