Per-diem Registered Nurse in a nursing float pool providing bedside care, medication administration, wound care, vital sign monitoring, and assisting physicians during treatments across units. Uses nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, documents patient status, and delivers patient/family education while addressing psychosocial needs. Requires RN degree, minimum 2 years' RN experience, Louisiana RN license, BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications; night shift (7pm–7am) as needed.

Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.

Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
- Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
- Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Louisiana State RN License
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS provider certification required.
- PALS certification required.
