The Interventional Radiology Physician is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular and non-vascular procedures in a hospital setting, including angiography, angioplasty, stenting, biopsies, and drainage. The role requires full-time coverage with on-call duties and collaboration with a multidisciplinary support team. Board certification in Interventional Radiology and proficiency in specialized procedures such as embolization and vascular access device placement are mandatory.
Coverage Needed
- Start Date: As soon as credentialed
- End Date: 08/29/2026
- Schedule: Full time, 8 AM - Open-ended
- On Call: 5 PM - 7 AM
Clinical Details
- Setting: Hospital, both inpatient and outpatient
- Facilities: 3 IR Rooms, 1 CT Room
- Patients per Day: 18
- Support Staff: RNs, radiology techs, NP, scheduling staff
- Required Procedures/Skills:
- CT: Biopsies, Aspiration drainage
- Vascular and Interventional Radiology:
- Diagnostic Vascular Intervention: Angiography (venous, arterial)
- Therapeutic Vascular Intervention: Angioplasty (venous, arterial), Stenting (venous & arterial), Thrombolytic therapy (venous & arterial), Embolization therapy (venous & arterial)
- Interventional (body, non-neuro)
- Vascular Access Devices/PICCS, IVC Filters, TIPS
- Non-Vascular Intervention (all emergent only): Aspiration/drainage procedures, w/ percutaneous tube insertion, w/ dilation and/or stent
- Percutaneous Needle Biopsies, Above diaphragm, Below diaphragm, Bone Extractions, Biliary, Renal
- Special Procedures: Abscess drainage Thoracentesis Paracentesis Perc. Transhepatic Choleangiogram
