The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides autonomous anesthesia care across various surgical specialties including orthopedics, OB/GYN, cardiac, and urology in a busy hospital setting. Responsibilities include performing blocks, epidurals, and spinals, with required certifications such as ACLS, PALS, CPR, state substance certification, and DEA licensure. The role involves weeknight and weekend call coverage as part of a care team model in a locum tenens assignment lasting at least six months.
Hospital recently moved from using an outside anesthesia group to bring anesthesia in-house. Care Team Model of 6 MDA s and 8 CRNA when fully staffed.
• CRNA s work autonomously; prefer those that can do blocks and will have a lot of OB- epidurals and spinals.
• 9 OR s running; this is a busy facility- looking for providers willing to take week night and weekend call.
• Coverage can begin as early as August and plan to book for at least 6 months if you are searching for a reliable, consistent locum assignment.
Types of cases: Cases primarily consist of bread and butter.
Ortho, OB/GYN, Cardiac, ENT, Bariatrics. podiatry, and Urology.
The CRNA needs to be ACLS, PALS and CPR certified.
You will need an Iowa State Substance Certificate and a Federal DEA.
