Job Description
American Traveler seeks an RN for a Med/Surg position in a designated stroke unit, requiring a TN or compact RN license and AHA BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital setting on the 6 Stringfield Neuro Medicine unit
- Unit is a designated stroke unit serving primarily stroke patients and some general med/surg patients
- Unit capacity of 30 beds with a patient population ranging from young adult to late adult (18-60+)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:6
- Variable staffing including RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and NIs
- Day shifts from 06:45 to 19:15, with possibility of 36 or 48-hour weeks
- Floating between units or facilities may be required within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs
- RN assumes full responsibility for assigned patients on each team
- Team includes support from LPNs, PCTs, and nurse interns
- Travelers may be asked to extend their assignment and should communicate with management at least 45 days before end date
- Covid vaccination is not required
- All positions follow a facility-specific radius rule; local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate
- Submission must include two professional references
- Auto Offer position—interviews may not be required before offer
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license with primary source verification
- American Heart Association BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Nursys verification is required within 30 days prior to start
- Must provide US Social Security Number and a US home address
- Copy of driver’s license required
