Seeking a full-time hospice/palliative medicine attending physician in the Palm Springs, CA area to manage ~160 hospice and ~160 palliative patients with a mix of in-person and telehealth visits. Responsibilities include admissions documentation, face-to-face recertification visits (about 10 per week), nursing home visits, shared after-hours/on-call coverage, and participation in interdisciplinary group (IDG) rounds. Position is Monday–Friday 8am–5pm with shared call (approx. 1:3), salaried compensation $300K+, and standard benefits including sign-on, PTO, CME allowance, malpractice coverage, and possible relocation assistance.

Position: Hospice Attending Physician
Full Time Employed/Salaried: the successful candidate will have previous experience in hospice, palliative care, and treatment of complex patients. The physician will be the attending physician for approximately 160 hospice patient and 160 palliative patients. The physician will do a combination of in person f2f visits and virtual visits. The physician will work with the hospice and palliative teams who may have clinical questions for the physician. The candidate will need to be flexible in their daily schedule which in Monday to Friday 8a-5p. Sharing call with other providers is expected
The physician will be responsible for:
- Documentation for new admissions, f2f visits for recertifications, and completion CTI narrative and meds at time of acceptance when on call
- Visits at nursing homes for custodial progress notes monthly
- F2f visits for hospice recerts, new admissions requiring f2f, and new admissions at nursing homes (about 10 per week)
- After hours call to be shared with two other physicians a week at a time for clinical and admissions
- Coverage for IDG rounds when I am on PTO or not available
