ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary responsibility of a Maintenance Mechanic at a quarry in the aggregate industry is to inspect, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and plant machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production operations continuous production operations.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, and other plant machinery to keep operations running smoothly.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled servicing on mobile and stationary equipment, including oil changes, belt adjustments, and component replacements.
- Welding and Fabrication: Weld, cut, and fabricate parts and structures as needed to repair or improve plant and equipment components.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems: Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulic and air systems on heavy equipment and plant machinery.
- Install and Align Equipment: Set up, align, and adjust motors, bearings, gearboxes, and conveyor systems for proper operation.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety checks on machinery and report hazards or needed repairs to supervisors.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and part usage logs.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required Work Experience: Experience in Quarry or Industrial Settings
- Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of heavy equipment and plant systems, including crushers, conveyors, and screening plants.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to quickly diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime.
- Welding and Fabrication Ability: Skilled in welding, cutting, and fabricating metal parts for equipment repairs or modifications.
- Safety Awareness: Committed to following all safety rules and maintaining a safe work environment around heavy machinery.
- Prior hands-on experience maintaining and repairing equipment in a quarry, mining, or industrial environment.
- Reliability and Work Ethic: Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a maintenance team.
- Physical Strength and Endurance: Capable of performing physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors in

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
