Operating Room Assistants (ORAs) support surgical teams by preparing and managing materials and equipment needed for procedures, ensuring timely assistance throughout surgical cases. They handle case setup, cleanup, equipment transportation, and may specialize as equipment or anesthesia technicians. The role requires BLS certification and is integral to delivering patient-focused, efficient perioperative care in a hospital setting.
Description
Operating room assistants will be assigned to teams and Operating rooms to provide support. ORA's will be expert technical assistants within specialty groupings. During cases ORA's will prepare materials and equipment or assure that all materials and equipment are ready for the cases. Between cases, ORA are expected to provide timely assistance. ORA responsibilities will include all activities that are required for case clean up, case turnaround, transportation and any other activities as directed. ORA may function as an equipment specialist and/or anesthesia tech.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
