The Urgent Care Physician provides full-time urgent medical care in a fast-paced clinic, treating a broad range of acute conditions for both adult and pediatric patients. Responsibilities include diagnosis, treatment, performing minor procedures, and managing a high volume of walk-in patients with support from experienced staff. The role requires relevant board certification, medical licenses, and clinical experience, with shifts typically lasting 12 to 14 hours.
Overview:
We are seeking an Urgent Care Physician to provide full-time coverage in Illinois. The clinic provides a steady patient flow and a collaborative environment with experienced support staff.
Responsibilities:
- Mix of 10a-10p or 6a-6p, typically 4 shifts in a row
- Provide urgent care to walk-in patients (average 60-70 patients per day)
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of acute conditions including minor orthopedic injuries, lacerations, foreign body removal, cough, sore throat, UTIs, STD testing, flu, rashes, and more
- Perform procedures such as splinting and suturing
- Work independently during shifts, with some overlap with NPs
- EMR: Epic
- Adults: 60% Pediatrics: 40%
Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Active Illinois medical license required (IMLC accepted)
- DEA registration required
- CSR license required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
- Certifications: ATLS, PALS
