The Weld Equipment Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance operations of welding equipment in an automotive manufacturing facility, ensuring equipment uptime and managing maintenance personnel. The role involves planning, budgeting, coordinating preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting automated welding systems, including robotic welding. The position requires extensive experience in automated plant maintenance, leadership of large teams, and technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems within the automotive industry.
TRCTalent is working alongside a global automotive manufacturer that has a metaplant location in Savannah GA. Position is Welding Equipment Maintenance Manager. This is a full time, fully onsite role in Savannah GA that requires automotive industry experience as well as a bachelor's degree.
• Coordinates, monitors, and performs specialized technical processes and related functions directly related to welding activities in the maintenance department in an automotive manufacturing environment to meet and exceed company goals and objectives.
General Management
• Report on status of assigned tasks at beginning, during and conclusion.
• In charge of shop wise maintenance index. (Downtime, Manpower, Preventive maintenance, Maintenance system, Equipment improvements, Safety/Environmental, Skill level etc.)
• Prepare, execute, evaluate & improve the annual operation plan.
• Oversee activities to encourage good teamwork. (Interview, Meeting, Events, Collaboration with expatriates)
• Manage the production and downtime condition of the welding shop.
• Need Flexible work schedule based on department shift rotation plan and may need to support any urgent equipment issue including those outside of normal working hours (Night, Weekends, Holidays)
• SAP & PM system should be maintained daily based on Welding shop’s PM activities
• Strong electrical and system engineering skills and knowledge and general mechanical understanding
• Maintaining smooth relationships with external departments through communication and cooperation

Budget & Spare parts Management
• Manage and monitor the purchasing, distribution, and inventory control of maintenance material. (include Tools, Subsidiary materials etc.)
• Control the weld maintenance budget of the year. (Monthly planning and analysis, Secure budget)
• Follow proper spare parts management system in weld maintenance including R&R
(Approve PR, Quotation, PO, Parts receiving, parts organizing, Parts issue and so on.)
• Manage and monitor the purchasing, distribution, and inventory control of maintenance material. (include Tools, Subsidiary materials etc.)

Shop Member Management
• Supervise and control conflicts in the organization and support any team member issues. (Organization control, Recruitment, Disciplinary measure, appraisal etc.)
• Clearly communicated to members about direction, company business decision and official information
• Evaluate and mentor shop members to encourage continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Minimum:
• More than 10 years maintenance career in the field of automated plants.
• Experience in managing more than 30 team members.
• Ability to understand drawing and specifications of electrical, mechanical systems.
• Technical college or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical concentration.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Trouble shooting ability for PLC based automation equipment.
Preferred:
• More than 5 years maintenance career in major automotive industry in US
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Holders of mechanical or electrical certifications
• AB PLC program and control circuit experience
• Performed many equipment installations including design study, paper work, inspection and testing new/modified equipment and processes
• Automotive robotic welding experience, prefer Kawasaki and Fanuc
