Brownwood is a small and quaint town, and home to 19,288 people. As the largest city in a 70-mile radius, Brownwood is the ideal place to practice medicine. Brownwood is known for some of the best hunting and fishing in Texas. The people in Brownwood enjoy these recreational perks with less than a ten-minute commute to work. The city of Brownwood offers an aquatic center, large recreational lake, and activities that the whole family can enjoy. The medical center has recently opened a Surgery Center. This outpatient surgery center is a joint venture between the medical center and Abilene and Brownwood physicians. It will offer same-day surgery for specialties including otolaryngology (ENT), gastroenterology, orthopedics, podiatry, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, pain management and plastic surgery. Hendrick has hired two mid levels to practice in Brownwood. Their clinic is within walking distance of the medical center. Hendricks's vision is to recruit primary care and subspecialties to support the Brownwood community.
