Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN with at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact license for a Med/Surg position caring for adult and geriatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg unit specializing in renal medical-surgical care
- Adult to geriatric patient population
- Nurse-to-patient ratio averages 1:5-6 with an average census of 48 patients in a 49-room unit
- Day shifts, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
- Weekends are required every other weekend
- Floating to other units is required
- No call requirements
- Epic EMR experience is required; Pyxis and SBAR are also used
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Compliance with all onboarding and orientation requirements is mandatory to start on time
- Navy blue scrubs must be worn
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed per contract; no time off approved during the first week of assignment
- Must be able to work assigned major holidays as scheduled according to hospital policy
- Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit
- No blocked scheduling is allowed
- Return travelers who were unable to return to a facility must complete a successful assignment outside of the system prior to returning
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Two supervisory references are required at time of consideration
- Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year to return as a traveler
