This role involves providing psychiatric evaluation and treatment to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges in various healthcare settings across New York State. The physician must be board-certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, licensed in New York, and experienced in trauma-informed care. Responsibilities include developing treatment plans, managing medications, documenting progress, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.
Adelphi is seeking Board-Certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists to provide psychiatric evaluations and care to youth populations in New York State. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with children and adolescents with serious emotional and behavioral challenges in a structured or residential setting.

Requirements:
• Medical Degree (MD or DO)
• Completion of a Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Fellowship
• Board Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
• Valid NY State Medical License and DEA registration
• CPR/BLS certification (AHA-approved)
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and child development
• Background clearance and drug screening required
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and treat youth with emotional, developmental, and psychiatric needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with care teams
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
• Document treatment and progress using EMR systems
• Provide consultation to staff and participate in multidisciplinary care planning
• Participate in family engagement and therapeutic strategy discussions
