A healthcare facility in New Jersey is actively seeking a patient-oriented and dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their growing staff. In this role, the Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced oncologic nursing assessment and documentation; including history and physical for complex hematology / oncology adult patients in the outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP):
- Provides advanced oncologic nursing assessment and documentation
- Performs inpatient hospital rounding as per provided schedule
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic treatments and non-pharmacologic modalities
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's disease-specific needs
- Monitors the effectiveness of interventions prescribed
- Facilitates the patient's transition within and between healthcare settings
- Provides education to patients, families, and significant others
- Acts as an information resource to students, healthcare professionals, patients, and the public
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) license for the state of New Jersey
- Oncology experience and/or ONS/ONCC certification
