Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Ohio, requiring an OH or compact RN license and strong PCU/med-surg background.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 1:3-4
- Rotating weeknights, weekends, and holidays are required
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 19:00 to 07:30
- Travelers must float to different units within the organization as needed
- Epic EMR is used and Epic experience is required
- Med-surg nurses will be considered if PCU experience is present
- Responsibilities include caring for PCU patients and adapting to various units as needed
- All candidates must complete fingerprinting as soon as possible after contract signing per Ohio regulations
- RTO (requested time off) must be disclosed at the time of application and built into the contract
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Former employees are eligible after a 6-month gap; current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible as travelers
- Rotating holiday coverage is required
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand
- Active certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or med-surg experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required, one must be from a manager or formal leadership role
- Previous travel experience preferred
