Respiratory Therapist (full-time, inpatient) providing direct cardiopulmonary care, mechanical ventilation management, emergency response, CPR/intubation support, monitoring and patient education. Location: Florida hospital. Schedule: clinical shifts (rotating/shift-based). Contract: permanent staff position. - Graduate of an accredited associate's degree respiratory program - Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Florida (required) - Experience with mechanical ventilation and emergency airway management - Ability to work clinical shifts in acute inpatient settings - Able to drive occasionally (non-frequent driver)

Overview:

Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Director, the Respiratory Therapist performs direct patient care to patients in all aspects of respiratory care according to the physician’s orders/approved protocols, with consideration given to the age of the patient. The Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory care and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities in the cardiopulmonary system. The clinical work includes:

• Setting up and managing mechanical ventilation.
• Emergency care.
• Assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and intubations.
• Monitoring physiological responses to therapy.
• Educating patients and their families about their conditions.
• Teaching appropriate disease management techniques.

$20,000 sign on bonus for Respiratory Therapists with less than one year experience

$30,000 sign on bonus for Respiratory Therapists with more than one year experience

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduate of accredited associate's degree respiratory program.

NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
