A Nursing Attendant performs routine nursing duties by assisting in patient care to ensure their comfort and welfare. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support, and preferably completion of a nurse aide training program or medical assistant externship. Experience as a nurse aide and current healthcare certifications are preferred for competent support in clinical settings.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs routine nursing duties. Provides competent assistance in caring for the comfort and welfare of patients and for the efficient performance of assignments.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma, its equivalent, or higher degree is required. Must have current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card. Completion of recognized nurse aide training program with three months in clinical studies is preferred; or, can be a Medical Assistant graduate that has completed an externship within University Health. Nurse aide certification with recent nurse attendant experience is preferred
