The Director of Facilities and Construction manages both new construction projects and existing facility upgrades for a grocery retailer operating on the islands. This role involves overseeing permitting, compliance, budgeting, vendor relationships, and leading cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence. The position requires extensive leadership experience in construction or engineering management, strong problem-solving skills, and collaboration across multiple sites.
Grocery retailer on the Islands, is seeking a Director of Facilities and Construction to manage existing facilities and new construction projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee all aspects of new construction as well as existing building upgrades and maintenance.
- Plan, budget, organize and supervise all permitting and compliance.
- Build strong vendor partnerships and secure the best products at the best prices.
- Lead and inspire cross-functional teams to deliver operational excellence and world-class service.
- Travel across the islands working with the construction, facilities and maintenance team.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of leadership in construction or engineering management in multiple facilities.
- Bachelor degree in construction or related field is required.
- Proven track record of handling new construction, permits, local building codes and meeting deadlines.
- Expertise in problem-solving, budgeting and planning.
- Collaborative, inspiring leadership style with excellent communication skills.
