Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg Float Pool assignment requiring an active SC or compact RN license and BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a large Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Facility as part of the Med/Surg Float Pool
- Float to various med/surg units at the main hospital and Ashley River Tower
- Assignments may vary by unit with differing patient ratios
- Night shift position, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Uses Epic EMR system; experience preferred
- No on-call requirements
- Care for a diverse med/surg patient population across multiple units
- Magnet hospital environment with high professional standards
- Solid royal blue or white scrub tops with royal blue bottoms required
- Mandatory completion of pre-start online training modules
- Holiday and block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
- Parking available at designated garage with permit fee required
- Emergency response team assignment possible during hurricane season (June to November)
- Time off requests of 7 days or less (excluding holidays) are considered for automatic offer; longer requests may delay the process
Requirements
- Active South Carolina or Compact State RN license in hand or proof of application
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years recent med/surg RN experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Must provide copies of Social Security card and driver's license for consideration
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least one year
