ICU | RN - # Beds: 4 - Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:02 - Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS. Prefer TNCC and PALS. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: DKA, Septic shock, ETOH withdrawal, Hypoxemia, Acute Resp Distress, Covid. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must Have: ICU experience. Will accept first time traveler. - Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Propofol, levophen, dobutamine, precedex, fentanyl, insulin, esmolol, versed, Ketamine, etc. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Yes, Charge nurse oversees MS, IMCU, and ICU (all on the same floor) & doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, shared with MS. - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Hospitalist 24/7, Intensivist in house M-F 8-5 then for the after hours and on weekends they utilize a telemedicine with OHSU. - RT in ICU 24/7: Yes, in the facility but will assist in the ICU to major. - RT Equipment: RT to do treatments. - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit: Yes, monitor techs, Mindray, must be comfortable reading and interpreting tele strips. - Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7:30. 2 week block schedule made out by management; Nights they try to group 3-4 shifts in a row. - Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend. - Holiday Requirements: May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation if it falls on a regularly scheduled shift. - Is there a call or standby requirement: None - Floating Requirements: Yes, could be asked to float to IMCU or MS and would be asked to take a full patient assignment; If they have prior ED experience they be asked if they are float to the ED. Could be asked to be helping hands in ER if no ER experience. - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any Color Scrubs. - Unit/Department specific orientation: 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. - Additional Notes: MS, IMCU, and ICU are all on the same floor; They are a small 40 bed community hospitals (Trauma Level 4); need to be able to function with more limited resources and be able to help out as needed.
