Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (Registered Nurse jobs in Virginia)
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills for cardiovascular nursing
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environments

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status and progress in the CVICU
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and operate advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on cardiac treatment plans and recovery processes
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive hospital environment for patients
