Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in a cardiac unit requiring a MI RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI, NSTEMI, stroke requiring monitoring, arrhythmias, chest pain, and occasional medical overflow
- Typical patient ratios are 1:5-6, with a potential of 1:7 during staff shortages
- Cardiac drips are managed on this unit
- Telemetry monitoring is performed both remotely and on the unit
- Uses Cerner Powerchart for documentation
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- No call responsibilities
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, management of drips, and caring for patients with acute cardiac events
- A remote telemetry room supports patient monitoring
- Team is actively expanding with additional travelers and hiring PCTs to support the workload
- Managers will attempt to accommodate block scheduling requests but cannot guarantee them
- Scrub color is Caribbean Blue
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required for consideration
- Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry RN experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
- Experience with Cerner Powerchart preferred
- Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- First time travelers are accepted
