Position Overview
The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. This role involves patient and family education, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and maintaining professional nursing standards in a clinical setting. The RN must be flexible, experienced, and comfortable floating as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate total nursing care for assigned patients
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations
- Administer and manage cardiac drips
- Perform dementia care and behavior management
- Participate in patient and family education
- Collaborate with ancillary nursing staff and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain professional nursing standards and documentation
- Float to Kingsbury unit as needed
- Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation
Patient Population
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License (Nursys upload required)
- 2+ years of recent Medical-Surgical experience
- Cardiac drip experience – REQUIRED (must be clearly noted on profile)
- Dementia care/management experience – REQUIRED
- Epic EMR experience – REQUIRED
- BLS & ACLS – REQUIRED
- NIHSS – Strongly Preferred
- Must have own vehicle (no public transportation available)
- Permanent address must be included in profile
Scheduling & Contract Requirements
- 48-hour guaranteed contract only
- 36-hour guarantee NOT available
- Block scheduling will NOT be accommodated
- No local travelers accepted (must reside 50+ miles from facility)
