American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Surgery position with a GA or compact RN license and at least two years of experience.
Responsibilities- Work in an Ambulatory OR/Outpatient Surgery setting
- Serves a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Typical shifts are flexible: mostly 3x12 hour shifts Wed-Fri (5:30am-6:00pm) or 4x10 hour shifts between 6:30am and 6:00pm
- 6-bed unit with an average daily census of 20 and 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Performs a wide variety of procedures including laryngectomy, neck dissection, tonsillectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, joint replacement, plastics, and more
- Unit uses Epic for charting and Pyxis for medication management
- Will be required to float to the main hospital as needed
- Call is required
- Scrub color is provided by the facility
- Circulating nurses are not required to scrub
- Will work across various service lines including dental, ENT, general surgery, cataracts, orthopedics, plastics, gynecology, pediatrics, neuro, and podiatry
- Holiday coverage required according to assignment period and facility rules
- Maximum of 7 days of RTO allowed, and no RTO may be taken during the first week of the assignment
- Must be fully compliant for a timely start; orientation occurs bi-weekly
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift and unit
- Must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year to be eligible to return as a traveler
- Return travelers who were not eligible to return must complete a successful assignment elsewhere before being considered
- Active GA or compact RN license
- At least 2 years of recent OR experience in a similar outpatient/ambulatory setting
- BLS certification required
- No first-time travelers accepted
- Experience with Epic and Pyxis systems preferred
- Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above for consideration
