The Monitor Technician is responsible for continuous surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and promptly notifying clinicians of any changes in cardiac rhythms. The role involves reviewing patient heart rhythm patterns and working collaboratively within the healthcare team to ensure patient safety. This part-time position requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and completion of relevant training or competency exams.

The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:
Part- Time
Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
Other: Basic computer skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.
