Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in Iowa requiring EPIC EMR proficiency, TEE and cardioversion experience, and an active IA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab within a hospital setting
• Unit includes 2 procedure rooms and 3 pre/post bays
• Patient population includes those undergoing non-invasive cardiology procedures
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:3
• Four 9-hour day shifts per week with start times between 7:00 and 7:30 am, ending around 4:30 to 5:00 pm
• Call coverage required on a 1 in 4 rotation, as needed
• May float to Cardiac & Vascular Holding area
• Uses EPIC as the electronic medical record system and prior experience is required
• Serve as part of an interdisciplinary care team managing non-invasive cardiac procedures
• Travelers required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving
• Only 1 day off may be requested between 11/26-11/30 and 12/23-1/2 regardless of holidays worked
• Locals within 50 miles may apply, but will be subject to local pay policy
• One recent supervisory reference from within the last two years is required for consideration
• No prior employment with the facility in the last 12 months is allowed

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Cardiac, Cath, or Vascular nursing required
• Experience with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) and cardioversion required
• EPIC EMR proficiency required
• First time travelers accepted if they meet experience requirements
