ScheduleWeekend nights from 7 PM to 7 AM with holiday rotation.
Job DescriptionThe Medical Surgical Trauma Unit specializes in providing exceptional care to patients diagnosed with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic fractures, and complex trauma. The unit is part of a Level 1 Trauma Center and focuses on respiratory patients, reconstructive plastic surgeries, advanced diabetic management, and complex wound management. The team emphasizes early patient mobilization and offers learning opportunities for both seasoned nurses and new graduates.
Responsibilities- Provide high-level patient care in a fast-paced, medical/surgical environment.
- Conduct assessments and monitor patients' health status continuously.
- Manage and titrate various drips such as Cardizem, Labetalol, and Amiodarone.
- Collaborate with clinical associates and other nursing staff for optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize advanced monitoring equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilators.
- Support patient safety through video monitoring and EKG strip interpretation.
- Current RN licensure in the state of West Virginia.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Strong assessment skills and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring is preferred.
