American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position in Massachusetts requiring current MA licensure and acute care experience.
Responsibilities- Hospital setting with rotation through multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units
- Float between Med/Surg units including ortho, urology, neurology, GYN, cardiology/tele, surgery, and cardio-thoracic
- Patient populations vary across units, with average ratio of 1:5
- Requires flexibility to float to 5 different Med/Surg/Tele units as needed
- 12-hour day and night shift rotation (7a-7:30p, 7p-7:30a) with FLEX scheduling
- Every other weekend required, with possibility to move to every third weekend
- Every other holiday coverage required
- Meditech and Epic EMR systems are used; Epic experience is strongly preferred
- Float across several units providing care to diverse medical-surgical and telemetry patient populations
- Must be able to adapt quickly and function independently in different unit environments
- References must include at least two recent manager-level clinical references with performance evaluations
- One reference must be from within the last 12 months; the other may be within the last three years
- Holiday and variable weekend coverage as scheduled
- No extended RTO or specific schedule requests are allowed
- Monthly parking fees may apply
- Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care RN experience required
- Stepdown and telemetry experience required
- Ability to independently read telemetry strips and pass an on-site telemetry exam (84% or better, two attempts max)
- Hospital experience at a Level 1 Trauma center is required
- Experience with IVs and rapid adaptation to varying units needed
- Completion of the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test may be required
- Epic EMR experience is strongly preferred
