Overview

Gallagher’s M&A and Private Equity and Portfolio Solutions Practice (GMAPS) is a specialized team committed to navigating the high-stakes, fast-paced world of mergers and acquisitions. The team focuses on reducing uncertainty, safeguarding value, and empowering clients to make informed decisions at every stage of the deal lifecycle.

We are seeking an experienced, organized, strategic, and entrepreneurial attorney to lead our claims advocacy practice. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for shaping how we communicate our unique value proposition with colleagues internally as well as our client base and market partners. The right candidate should be excited to join an early-stage team with the possibility for growth and leadership opportunities.

On a day-to-day basis, this individual will lead the GMAPS team’s claims management function, including filing RWI, tax, and contingent insurance claims, guiding clients and their outside counsel through the claims process, advocating for clients in negotiations with insurance carriers, developing and strengthening relationships with their counterparts at insurer partners, and facilitating efficient claims resolutions. The claims lead will also be responsible for retaining and organizing relevant claims-related data, assisting in developing claims-related marketing materials, and speaking on panels and at conferences regarding transactional insurance claims processes and issues. The ideal candidate will have substantial previous experience handling transactional insurance claims, familiarity with the transactional insurance market and network, and an interest in public speaking and client interactions. They will also be able to point to a strong professional reputation, a demonstrated history of excellence in client advocacy, and an entrepreneurial spirit that will help them drive the GMAPS business forward. Most critically, the person in this role will be responsible for pitching and advocating for the GMAPS platform to prospects, clients, and the transactional insurance marketplace.

You’ll work closely with the Head of the GMAPS Practice and the heads of the transactional insurance lines to add value for our clients at every stage of the claims process and to assist in the team’s overall sales and marketing strategy and efforts.
