Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in an acute care setting requiring cardiac care skills and an active IL RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
- Fast-paced cardiac patient population with a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Responsible for managing cardiac drips, sheath pulls, and central line care
- 12-hour night shifts, three shifts per week, from 18:45 to 07:15
- Every other weekend is required
- Floating to all inpatient units at both campuses as needed
- Epic EMR is used and experience with Epic is required
- Unit has 40 staffed beds within a 222-bed facility
- Navy scrubs are required
- Perform hourly rounding and bedside shift reports for all patients
- No on-call duties are required
- Must not reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
- No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted during the first week of orientation
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Magnet designated hospital environment
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience required
- Experience with cardiac drips, sheath pulls, and central line management required
- Epic charting experience required
- First-time travelers are accepted
