Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour shifts with self-scheduling
• Patient ratios: MS patients 1:5-6, PCU patients 1:3-4 (acuity based)
• Float as needed within hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• Weekend coverage required with obligation to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 36-hour orientation period provided
• Must have 1+ years of experience with solid neuro experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must have experience with Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Insulin drips, Post Heart Cath, and Post Pacemaker procedures
• Dress code: red scrub top with black bottoms
• Charting system: Cerner (preferred experience)
• Care for mixed acuity unit including medical surgical and progressive care patients
• Manage oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary patients
• Handle unstable strokes and BiPap patients
• Administer and manage various drips including cardiac and insulin protocols
• Must accept MS/Tele or PCU nursing background
• Indiana state, compact, or Indiana temporary license required prior to start
• Local Indiana residents not accepted for this position
• Travel experience preferred

This short-term acute care hospital features 194 staffed beds and operates a dynamic mixed acuity progressive care unit. The facility specializes in comprehensive care including oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary services. The hospital provides extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services. The unit maintains a daily census of 29-31 patients across 31 rooms and beds, offering both medical surgical and progressive levels of care with modern equipment and technology.
