Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with night shifts, requiring ER holding experience and EPIC proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Step-down level care from ICU, no vents or pressor support involved
- Initiates and manages drips including heparin, cardizem, and amiodarone, as well as sotalol initiation
- Cares for patients requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring
- Night shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts per week, from 18:45 to 07:15
- Floating within the hospital to other units based on skill set is required
- Nurses will only float to units they are qualified for based on competencies and skill set
- Telemetry responsibilities include drip management and cardiac monitoring
- Holiday coverage may be expected as part of the regular rotation
- Scrub and shift details will be provided during assignment onboarding
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a med/surg tele setting
- ER holding experience is required
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with EPIC EMR
- Must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
- Two professional references are required at time of consideration
