Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• 4th Floor East Wing PCU unit with 55 beds
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio for both day and night shifts
• Care for adult patients and occasionally pediatric patients 15 years and older
• Common patient diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness
• Manage common drips and medications including PCA pumps for pain management, Cardizem, and insulin
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Telemetry competency required
• Use EPIC electronic medical record system and Alaris IV pumps
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% minimum score
• Mechanical lifts available in every other room
• Float to medical-surgical areas based on highest need
• Focus on hourly rounding and patient responsiveness
• Support staff includes nursing assistants, charge nurse, educator, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and provide driver's license at submittal
• Cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities
