The Interventional Radiologic Technologist assists in conducting diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures, including angio and vascular interventions, in a hospital cardiac cath lab setting. This role requires patient preparation, administration of contrast media, monitoring during procedures, and adherence to radiation safety and regulatory guidelines. Licensure and certification in radiologic technology or cardiovascular invasive specialties are required, with additional benefits and career development opportunities provided by a large health system.

Responsibilities
Assist with procedures and provides diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients
- Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity.
- Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Able to perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular, and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures, along with assisting the Radiologist/PA.
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- One or more of the following required:
- Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any specialty accepted.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
Ability to work 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week.
Ability to respond to on call within 30 minutes
