Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Richmond, VA 23219
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 07:00-19:00, Night: 19:00-07:00), 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Unit: 14-bed Cardiac Surgery ICU

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or CSICU experience in a Level I Trauma Center or academic hospital
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Experience with invasive hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, IABP, ECMO, and post-op cardio-thoracic surgery recovery
• Strong clinical skills in conscious sedation, pulmonary artery lines, telemetry, and ventilator management
• BSN preferred
• 2 professional references required

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill cardiac surgery patients, including CABGs, valve repairs/replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, artificial hearts, and transplants
• Monitor and manage advanced circulatory assist devices (Heartmate II/III LVAD, CentriMag RVAD/LVAD, Heartware HVAD, ECMO, CRRT, IABP, Total Artificial Heart)
• Perform invasive hemodynamic monitoring and titrate vasoactive IV medications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Float within scope as needed
• Participate in orientation and complete required modules during the first week
• Adhere to facility policies, including natural nail policy
