Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 2 years of acute care experience for an inpatient hospital position.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital setting
- Unit specializes in speech-language pathology for a diverse inpatient population
- 1:1 patient to provider ratio with an average of 8 visits per day
- Average daily census is 50 patients
- Work schedule is 5x8 hour day shifts, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Weekend shifts required approximately one weekend per month
- Participate in interdisciplinary care and coordinate with other healthcare team members
- May supervise students when available within the department
- Expected to maintain clinical competency and participate in ongoing continuing education
- Adheres to professional code of ethics and departmental procedures, including productivity standards
- Scrubs required in Caribbean Blue or Lavender
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Can request up to two days of scheduled time off
Requirements
- Current CCC-SLP certification required
- Maryland state SLP license required if applicable
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience required
- Experience performing FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) preferred
- ASHA membership preferred
- Must provide two professional references for consideration
