Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical Unit. In this fast-paced environment, you’ll provide primary nursing care to patients recovering from a variety of medical and surgical conditions. The RN collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes, administer medications, monitor patient condition, and document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Whether you’re an experienced medical/surgical nurse or a motivated new graduate, this role provides opportunities to develop your skills and contribute to high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults with diverse medical and surgical needs.
- Administer intermittent and continuous IV medications and monitor for reactions or changes in patient status.
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient condition, assess changes, and take appropriate interventions.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the EMR.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Support unit operations, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to a positive work environment.
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice (or compact-eligible)
- BLS Certification required within 3 months of hire
- ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 1 year of hire
Experience
- Previous medical/surgical or telemetry experience is helpful but not required
- New graduates are welcome to apply
- Competitive hourly pay: $33.40 – $53.44/hour (commensurate with experience)
- Shift Differentials:
- 2nd Shift: 15% of base pay (up to $5.00/hr)
- 3rd Shift: 25% of base pay (up to $10.00/hr)
