Job Title: Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU RN)

Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift:
12-hour Day Shifts
Weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage required
On-call response time: 60 minutes
Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural anesthesia
Monitor patient airways, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and pain levels during recovery
Assess and respond to post-operative complications, including dysrhythmias and airway concerns
Safely manage patient mobility and transfers, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment
Maintain a safe, aseptic clinical environment in PACU/OR/ASU settings
Prioritize, delegate, and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
May assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed
Communicate effectively with physicians, anesthesia providers, patients, and families
Accurately document patient care and assessments
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current New York State RN license
Previous PACU experience required
Strong knowledge of nursing principles and post-anesthesia care
Ability to function effectively in high-stress situations with strong problem-solving skills
Demonstrated leadership, delegation, and prioritization abilities
BLS (required)
ACLS (required)
PALS (required)
Minimum one year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
Charge nurse, preceptorship, or leadership experience
Advanced dysrhythmia interpretation skills
Experience with OR/ASU clinical equipment and instrumentation
100-mile radius rule applies
