Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
• Unit: K8 General Surgery – Telemetry
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/7/2025 – End: 3/8/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Dress Code: Navy blue pants, navy blue or white scrub top/jacket, white undershirt if needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state)
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• Telemetry nursing competency
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in telemetry or medical-surgical nursing
• Ability to manage 6-7 patients per shift
• Experience with urology and bowel patient populations preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to a diverse telemetry population, including urology and bowel cases
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Administer medications and treatments such as TPN, IV antibiotics, and heparin drips
• Perform and manage procedures: wound vacs, tube feeds, PEG tubes, NG tubes, colostomies, urostomies, and various drains
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including providers, CNAs, and unit secretaries
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR
• Float to other medical-surgical units as needed
• Maintain a positive, energetic, and engaging presence on the unit
