American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with a GA or compact RN license, 2 years of experience, and current BLS/ACLS certifications for adult and geriatric care.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric patients
- Care for diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and vascular issues
- Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5, with an average census of 35 in a 36-room unit
- Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and medication management
- Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week, 19:00–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other units as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- Responsible for monitoring and caring for patients with acute cardiac and medical conditions
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Must be available to work major holidays per assignment guidelines; no holiday RTO is approved except as specified
- Maximum of 7 days RTO approved; RTO required at time of application and not allowed during first week
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Orientation modules completed during onboarding; hours are non-billable
- All candidates must be able to submit core documents and schedule labs within 48 hours of contract signing to ensure on-time start
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Travel pairs are not permitted to be assigned the same shift on the same unit
- No blocked scheduling is allowed
- Active GA or compact RN license in hand
- Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry RN experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH certification preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required to provide two supervisory references from manager level or above
- Must have been away from any Piedmont facility for one full year if previously employed or on PRN status
