Electrophysiology and Catheterization Technologist
LocationPittsburgh, PA
Assignment DurationThis is a 12-week contract position.
ScheduleMonday through Friday, 8-hour days, either 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. On-call evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job DescriptionThe Electrophysiology and Catheterization Technologist performs imaging procedures independently, requiring sound judgment and initiative. The role includes ensuring patient safety, proper use of radiographic techniques, and documentation of procedures.
Responsibilities- Perform imaging procedures competently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate proper positioning and radiographic techniques for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Maintain radiation safety for patients and staff, documenting exposure in electronic records.
- Support aseptic techniques and patient safety protocols during procedures.
- Function effectively in the first assist position and administer contrast as directed.
- Provide on-call coverage as scheduled.
- Maintain quality control for point of care testing standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients and co-workers, facilitating positive interactions.
- Document patient history and ensure proper patient identification during procedures.
- Ensure accurate coding and tracking of images through the PACS and electronic records.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- ARRT certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology or equivalent qualifications.
