The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations in a manufacturing environment. Key duties include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, managing inventories, and collaborating with supervisors to support production. The role requires 2-3 years of maintenance experience, proficiency with technical documentation, and adherence to safety regulations.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the facility and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role performs mechanical, electrical, troubleshoots issues, manages inventories, and supports production needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Location: Portland, ME
Shift: 1st (5:30am - 2pm)
Essential Functions
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and production equipment.
- Install, assemble, troubleshoot, and repair machinery, gauges, valves, regulators, and related components.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment issues; complete necessary repairs and adjustments.
- Install and repair electrical and electronic systems
- Manage parts, tools, and supply inventories; purchase required materials.
- Work with supervisors and managers to plan and support maintenance needs across departments.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of general maintenance experience required.
- Experience in a web press or similar manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and O.E.M. documentation.
- Proficiency in Excel for tracking inventory.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and strict adherence to all safety procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods during 10–12 hour shifts.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work at heights.
