We are seeking a Board-Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in North Carolina, near Shannon. This is a short-term assignment with excellent support, offering a chance to work in a dynamic inpatient setting.
Assignment Details:- Dates: December 16, 2024, to December 18, 2024
- Coverage Type: Call only (backup call, second line)
- Shifts: Call coverage ends at 7:00 AM on December 18, 2024
- Practice Setting: Inpatient; no outpatient duties required
- Rounding: Assigned patients
- Patient Care: Includes admissions; temporary privileges are available
Practice Requirements:- Board Certification: Required in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Certifications Needed:
- Licensing: Active North Carolina medical license required
Facility Details:- Average deliveries per year: 350
- Inpatient department includes six beds
- Trauma Level: 0 Pediatric Level: 2
Specialty Skills Required:- Obstetrics:
- Routine deliveries, vaginal deliveries, low-forceps, and decision-making for C-sections
- Management of both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
- Fetal heart rate interpretation, OB ultrasounds, and VBACs
- Complicated deliveries including breech, multiple births, and abruptions
- Gynecology:
- Surgical procedures including laparoscopic diagnostics, tubal ligations, and ovary removal
- Office procedures such as IUD placements, colposcopies, and cryosurgery
Support Staff:- RN: 2
- Midwife: Takes first call
- PA/NP: 1
Additional Details:- Call Response Time: 25 minutes
- Facility uses Cerner EMR system
- Credentialing process: Quick turnaround (approximately 2 days)
