Overview
Marshfield Clinic Health System is seeking a Board-Certified (or Eligible) Pediatric Surgeon for a locum tenens assignment at MCHS Hospital Marshfield in Wisconsin. This is a long-term locums opportunity due to a permanent vacancy, with coverage beginning November 25, 2025, and continuing on an ongoing basis (approximately 2 weeks per month).
Assignment Details
Start Date: November 25, 2025 (with orientation on 11/25)
Schedule:
Clinic/OR: Monday Friday, 7:00am 5:00pm (first/last day handoffs at noon)
Nights/Weekends: Beeper call (with in-house surgery residents; locum must come in for emergencies and weekend rounding)
Coverage Needed: 2 weeks per month, ongoing
Setting: Inpatient only
Facility: Level II Trauma Center, Pediatric Level III, with PICU and NICU onsite
Patients per shift: 5 8
Beds in department: 24
Preferred Skills & Procedures
General Pediatric Surgery (including neonate and trauma cases)
Laparoscopic procedures (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, Nissen fundoplication)
Pediatric-specific procedures (esophageal, intestinal, biliary, abdominal wall defects, gastroschisis, umbilical defects, hernia, omphalocele, diaphragmatic hernia, imperforate anus, PDA ligation)
Central line insertion, chest tube insertion, and ventilation management
Qualifications
Board Certified or Eligible in Pediatric Surgery (Fellowship required)
ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS required
Active state license preferred (no license requirement to bid; temp privileges available)
Prior teaching/resident supervision experience required
